The TLA-DC’s Annual Gala Was Truly An Affair to Remember
On May 13, 2017, the Trial Lawyers Association of Washington, DC hosted its 62nd Annual Awards Dinner, themed An Affair to Remember at the historic Howard Theater. This year’s gala was put together by Paulson & Nace, PLLC’s own Christopher T. Nace, who was elevated to the position of President of the TLA-DC at the event. Chris is following in his father’s footsteps: Paulson & Nace founding partner Barry J. Nace twice served as president of TLA-DC. It was a black-tie affair that honored the work done by members who fight for justice every single day.
This year’s proceeds helped support the Living Classrooms Foundation, a non-profit organization which “strengthens communities and inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources” with locations in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. The gala featured entertainment by the Queen Beez, a group of children who have been helped and supported by the Living Classrooms Foundation. Living Classrooms was the recipient of this year’s Community Service Award.
An evening filled with the legal community’s brightest stars
This year’s gala also helped bring legal community organizations together. Because the awards dinner coincided with the American Association for Justice’s Spring Board of Governors meeting, a number of AAJ members joined in the festivities. Also joining in the fun was Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, who came to support the attorneys as well as the Living Classrooms Foundation.
We invite you to view some of our photos from the evening, and to join us in congratulating Chris Nace in his new role as President of the Trial Lawyers Association of Washington, DC, as well as for the wonderful job he did planning this year’s awards dinner.
