Our Trial Experience

Not all law firms specializing in medical malpractice, product liability, and other personal injury matters have trial experience. In fact, many have no courtroom experience at all, and look to settle such cases without ever presenting a case to a jury. Unfortunately, a client has limited options for reasonable settlement if he or she is represented by an attorney with limited trial experience.

At Paulson & Nace, we take on the toughest cases, and put all of our resources behind them. We prepare each case as if it will go to trial, with extensive investigation, exhaustive research, and superior litigation and trial skills. Unlike other firms, we do not rely on a stable of experts, but find the most authoritative testimony for each case, whether in evaluating medical procedures, drug efficacy, product design, or other issues. We spare no expense or effort in litigating our cases; senior partner Barry Nace litigated one case for 18 years. We employ the latest technology for case management and trial because we know the value of presenting a compelling visual case to the jury. It’s no surprise that colleagues across the country refer some of the most challenging and complex personal injury cases to us.

Nace’s excellence in the courtroom has earned him numerous accolades, and he has been repeatedly recognized as one of D.C.’s best trial attorneys. He was awarded Attorney of the Year by the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, DC and has been a nominee several times for Attorney of the Year by the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. Nace is also an elected member of the Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in American Law. He is one of a handful of attorneys in the District of Columbia to be certified as a trial attorney by both the National Board of Trial Attorneys and the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Both groups require significant trial experience as well as passage of an extensive written test. He is admitted to more than a dozen bars, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
