What is Wrongful Death?
When a person dies because of someone else’s negligence or failure to use ordinary care, a wrongful death claim results. Wrongful death cases run the gamut, encompassing medical malpractice, drug and product liability, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury matters in which someone dies as a result of injury. The law governing the types of damages recoverable in wrongful death cases varies considerably from state to state.
